I wonder why I have
never failed while Albert Einstein, Mark Zuckerberg, Thomas Edison, Steve Jobs,
Bill Gates and the likes failed severally according to their accounts. How perfect
could I have been, what exactly I was doing right, why don’t they just come and
learn from me. I have been to pools, rivers, seas, oceans, lands, mountains,
hills and valleys and yet, there is no one thing I have tried twice. Everything
has ever been done right. If you don’t call me perfection, you must be out of
your mind. I took my time to analyze why I never failed after series of studies
and observations----------
It
is simply because I have never achieved anything
So how did I know this?
Well, I opined that the
likes of Gates, Mark, Wozniack, Obama, Edison should come and learn from me,
however with all my history of travels perfection, I am not more known than my
local government chairman. What exactly can people attribute to me? Is there
any patent, invention, discovery, innovation? Nothing at all
So
why is failure similar to these world renowned great men?
According to Ken
Robinson, “If you are not prepared to be
wrong, you will never come up with anything original”.
That exactly was the
blockbuster!!!!!!!!!!!
I have and had no
invention, no originality and nothing can be attributed to me or called by my
name. Gates and Microsoft, Mark and Facebook, Jobs and Apple, what about me?, definitely,
Grose and Noise.
According to Joshua
Becker, "Life is experienced as a
constant, never-ending shift between successes and failures, sometimes, they occur
within moments of one another. To be human is to fail. This is known to be true
from personal experience”.
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is very true. I have
actually not found out how something isn’t ever done but how it is done
correctly. Every time I tried something and did it at a first try, I only used
the method developed by someone else. Therefore, it can’t be attached to my
name.
In order to succeed,
you must first find out how something is not done before finding out how is done.
Thomas Edison is a true picture of this expression. He said, ‘I didn’t fail, I just found out a thousand
ways the light bulb wouldn’t work.
My dear, you only get
it right once you tried it because someone else discovered a way you would have
done it and it wouldn’t work.
So,
what should be your attitude to failure?
According to Tim
Harford in his book Success starts with
Failure, he said, ‘Success comes
through rapidly fixing our mistakes rather than getting things right the first
time’.
Failure doesn’t show
how incompetent you are. It’s not a crime to fail after all. It’s just an
avenue to try again and with another method. Albert Einstein said, ‘You can’t keep doing it the same way and
get a different result'.
The
writer of this article wrote Ordinary level exams eight times before he got
admitted into a University and yet finished with a Summa Cum Laude.
This shows that the beginning isn’t as important
as the end
Seth Godin says, ‘The only thing worse than starting
something and failing….. is not starting at all’.
This definitely makes
you a coward because you can’t even conquer your community not to talk of the
world. Please get up and try again. Your
excuses shouldn’t be your motivation, but your failures.
Finally, get up your
ass and try again. Remember, you are not your own failure. If you actually want to succeed in life, take the bitter truth, you must
FAAAIILLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
