According to Jesse Jackson, ‘If
I can conceive it and believe it, I can achieve it. It's not my aptitude
but my attitude that will determine my altitude—with a little
intestinal fortitude!
Our attitude, character and opinion about life are very important and are one
of the determinants to how far we would go in life. There is a limit to where
we can go or be in life if we don’t have the right content to contain what is
coming for us. Therefore in this article, we will identify the 6 particular
attitude we should have about life and can make us reach the pinnacle we so
desire;
#1 Know that your only competition is who you were yesterday
In life, you must always ask
yourself the question, ‘who are you after or who is after you?’ The only
person you should always try to better is yourself. At every point in your
life, always evaluate yourself. Look at where you are coming from, where you
are now and where you are going. Always make sure you are never idle, and also
make sure you are doing better today than yesterday. Never let there be a
time that your yesterday was better than today.
The only person you are competing
with is yourself. Don’t use other people’s race to run your own, don’t try
to copy other people’s paper, our life questions are very different. The
only person you are contending or running the life race with is yourself. Try
to be better than the man you used to be. You can also read this article, 3 things that should never control you in life

#2 Earn, save and invest before you spend
According to Bernard Mannes Baruch, ‘A
speculator is a man who observes the future, and acts before it occurs’.
Yes, if you plan to secure a future that is not here yet, then you have to do
so by investing in the future. Freedom
doesn’t come free; it comes through blood and sweat. This is the reason why
you have to work your ass out and earn. If you still depend on one or two for
monetary values, then you are not free yet. You have to start doing something;
you have to start earning. Then, you have to save, before you now think of
spending. If you refused to save, you
must prepare to borrow.

Saving and borrowing are mutually exclusive. If you
spend all that comes to your hand when you get it, then when the source ceases,
be ready to borrow to sustain your profligacy. For the purpose of wisdom in
investing, I recommend ‘The Richest man in Babylon’. The book taught me financial wisdom and guided me on how to treat money. You can check the
article 10 Tricks of Successful Investment for more details on the wisdom of
investing. This is the only way to guarantee a future and financially and
prevent any form of bankrupt.
#3 Avoid negative people, life is too short
According to William Shakespeare, ‘Give
every man thy ear, but few thy voice; Take each man's censure, but reserve thy
judgment’. The worst people to live with are the negative people or the
pessimistic people. These people always have a reason for something not to be
done or achieved. They are fond of wanting not to do anything and want people
to be like them. Imagine if your wife, husband, employee or boss is like this,
you tend to be at a point for a very long time and your progress would
definitely be questioned. The best thing is to avoid people like this. You can
check the article 10 Opinion of Losers,
this will help you to identify people like such and know when to run from them.
Life is too short and not achieving
anything is one of the most foolish things to do; do everything in your power
to disappear from the people that discourage you or boo you from doing anything
good for yourself. You are responsible for your own life.
#4 If you don’t go after what you want, you will never get
it
According
to John Webster, ‘Ambition, madam, is a great man's madness’. Willis Reed says, ‘Go
for the moon. If you don't get it, you'll still be heading for a star’. If
you do not chase something, something must chase you. If you have no goal or dream, be ready to be used by others to achieve
their own dreams. In everyday of your life or at every stage of your life,
always chase something. Let something be on your mind that you want to achieve.
Reach out to your goals. What you don’t go for will never be yours. You are where you are today because you
once had it in mind
.

According to Stephen
R. Covey, ‘Goal setting is
obviously a powerful process...the manifestation of creative imagination and
independent will. It's the practicality of...translating vision into
achievable, actionable doing’. As you wake each day, make sure you set a
goal for yourself. Always have a target you want to meet, always have a passion
driving you, and always have a top you are eyeing. Let something drive you mad.
Let your goals push you to do unimaginable things. Before you know it, you have
fulfilled a longtime goal.
#5 See failure as a beginning, not an end
According to Walter Reuther, ‘If you're not big enough to lose, you're not big enough to win’. Failure is what differentiates the weak
from the strong, the coward from the bold. Robert Kiyosaki says, ‘Failure is not the opposite of success, failure is a part of success’. You can learn more of
this from the book Rich Dad Poor Dad
and this has been compressed into the article ‘6 Lessons from Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki’. Failure doesn’t determine what you will
become; rather, it is only a setback, challenge and test of your endurance.
Only the willing, enthusiastic and persevering will get to the end of the
journey.
When things don’t go your way, don’t feel bad, don’t brood, rather
roll up your sleeve and face it. Never
run from your problems, else, you will continue to meet them and you will never
pass that particular stage. See failure as a friend, and you will have
reasons to overcome it. Failure won’t end you, it will only mend you.
According to Michael Smurfit, ‘Never
accept failure, no matter how often it visits you. Keep on going. Never give up’.
#6 Our habits decide our future
Finally, we will discuss the
importance of habit in what we want to become in life. Habit is what shows
the type of person we are and the type of person we will be. When you are
used to laziness, it is quite easy to predict that success is very far from
you. If you are the type that sleeps early and wake late just because you think
you deserve to sleep all the time, then when the consequences come, you will
happily suffer it.
The Holy Bible says, ‘A little sleep, a little slumber, so poverty comes’. However, if you are known to be hardworking, industrious, sedulous, busy, calculative, sapiosexual, it is quite easy to see how soon you will break barriers and people won’t be surprised when they see you living comfortably, because they know you deserve it.

Therefore, work on
your habit; check the things you do daily. Most great men always share the
experience of doing some things every day; Such as waking early, planning their
life, fulfilling their schedule, giving time for medical checkup and the likes.
Your habit in life is very important. Always evaluate yourself at the end of
each day and ask yourself if you achieved what you ought to achieve for that
day; this is very important.
